There, she started every match as the team went on to win the tournament, defeating China 5–0 in the final.[1] Her success in this tournament led to her being picked for the senior national team at the 2007 World Cup, where the Korea DPR exited in the quarter-finals. Her second major tournament with the national squad was the 2008 Summer Olympics, an event where she scored the winning goal in the team's first match against Nigeria.[1]
