Kevin Humphreys (politician)
Kevin Humphreys (born 4 February 1958) is an Irish former Labour Party politician who served as a Senator for the Administrative Panel from 2016 to 2020.[1] He previously served as Minister of State for Employment, Community and Social Support from 2014 to 2016. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin South-East constituency from 2011 to 2016.[2]

From Ringsend, he was a member of Dublin City Council from 1999 to 2011, representing the South East Inner City area.[3]
On 15 July 2014, he was appointed as Minister of State with responsibility for Employment, Community and Social Support at the Department of Social Protection.[4]
He lost his Dáil seat at the 2016 general election, but was subsequently elected to the Seanad.[3]
After being politicised by campaigning against the 8th Amendment in 1983, Humphrey's first ran for election in 1999, becoming a councillor for the South East Inner City ward of Dublin City Council.[5]
He was re-elected in 2004 and 2009, topping the poll both times. During this period, Humphrey's worked with then Lord Mayor, Andrew Montague to deliver the Dublin Bikes scheme.[5]
He was an unsuccessful candidate for the Dublin Bay South constituency at the 2020 general election, receiving 7.88% of first-preference votes, coming in sixth in the four-seat constituency. [6]
