Kent Women cricket team

The Kent Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English county of Kent. They play in Division One of the Women's County Championship, which they have won a record eight times, most recently in 2019. The team is a part of Kent County Cricket Club, one of the 18 first-class cricket counties.

As of 2019 the team is based for most home matches at the County Cricket Ground, Beckenham. The team also plays occasional matches at the St Lawrence Ground and at the Polo Farm in Canterbury, a ground also used by Kent men's Second XI and Academy sides.

Canterbury Christ Church University are the team's official sponsors.

Honours

Kent Women have won the Women's County Championship a record seven times and been runner-up five times. The team has won the Women's Twenty20 Championship three times.[2]

The Kent Women's squad features current or former England internationals Tammy Beaumont, Natasha Farrant, Lauren Griffiths, Laura Marsh, Fran Wilson and Alice Davidson-Richards.[3][4]

During the 2016 season New Zealand international captain Suzie Bates played for the county as did former England captain Charlotte Edwards.[5][6] Edwards was named one of Wisden's five Cricketers of the Year in 2014 and Bates was named as Wisdens "Leading Women's Cricketer of the World" in 2016.[7][8] Edwards left Kent after the end of the 2016 season after 16 years at the county.[9]
