Just Got Paid (Sigala song)

"Just Got Paid" is a song by English DJ and record producer Sigala, English singer Ella Eyre and American singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor, featuring American rapper French Montana.[1] It was written by Sigala, Trainor, Eyre, Nile Rodgers, Montana, The Invisible Men and Steve Manovski, and produced by Sigala, Joakim Jarl and Manovski. It was released to digital retailers on 7 September 2018, through Ministry of Sound Recordings and B1 Recordings, as the tenth and final single from Sigala's debut album, Brighter Days.[2]

Critical reception

"Just Got Paid" was listed as the week's top 5 songs to listen by Raisa Bruner of Time. She called Trainor and Eyre's vocals "poppy" and dubbed it the "song you put at the top your going-out-after-payday playlist".[3] Idolator's Mike Nied also praised Eyre and Trainor's vocals, writing "M-Train chants on her verse. She and Ella steal the show with their impeccable vocals" and called Montana's verse respectable.[4] A writer for Capital FM wrote "When you combine Sigala and Ella Eyre, you just get bangers" and cited "Just Got Paid" as an example.[5]

Music video

The song's music video was released on October 10, 2018. The video begins with Eyre at a laundromat, and later cuts to Trainor working at a convenience store; French Montana does not appear. It later cuts to the two dancing in a parking lot.[6][7]
