In the issue dated January 27, 1968, Billboard published a review of the album that said, "The bouncy, uptempo "The Last Thing on My Mind" heads the list of twelve enjoyable tunes on this LP combining two exciting voices. Soloing or combining, this duo balances out to singing that's exceptional. Miss Parton wrote four of the songs. The twangy arranging is groovy."[2]
