Location

It would have been the interchange between the High Speed Rail (KL-SG HSR) between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore if plans for the KL-SG HSR, which was planned to be completed by Dec 2026 had gone ahead, but is suspended till 31 May 2020. KL-SG HSR will only start operations in Jan 2031 if it is to be constructed after all.

History

On 9 May 2018, LTA announced that Jurong Town Hall station would be part of the proposed Jurong Region line (JRL). The station will be constructed as part of Phase 2, JRL (East), consisting of 7 stations between Tengah and Pandan Reservoir, and is expected to be completed in 2027[4].

Location

The station complex will be situated next to Jurong Town Hall Road, at the junction with the International Business Park (IBP) roundabout. It is located in the Jurong East planning area between the International Business Park and Lakeside Subzones[5], with the future HSR station to the west and IBP to the east.

Access to the station will be via 6 exits on each side of the Jurong Town Hall Road.[6]
