Jon A. Jensen
Major General Jon A. Jensen is a United States Army two-star general. He was appointed as head of Minnesota's National Guard in 2017.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

In 2015, he was assigned to the U.S. Army's operations in Africa as deputy commanding general for U.S. Army Africa.[7]
Education
Jensen is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University. He later earned master's degrees from the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.[5]
Military career
Jensen initially joined the Iowa National Guard as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1989, serving in the 1st Battalion of the 168th Infantry Regiment of the 34th Infantry Division. He was deployed to Kuwait in 2001 as a major and Iraq in 2007 as a lieutenant colonel.[5]
