Jessel Carneiro

Jessel Carneiro (born 14 July 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a Left Back for the Kerala Blasters FC[1] in the Indian Super League.

Career

Early Life and Career:(2012-2019)

In the beginning he spent his career for variuos goan clubs,the major being dempo.He was also the part of the Goan team that participated in the Santhosh Trophy

2019-Present(Kerala Blasters)

Carneiro arrived at Kerala Blasters after an impressive stint with Dempo SC in Goa Premier League. Reportedly, the club paid a transfer fee of around ₹18 lakhs to their Goan counterpart to acquire his services.[2]

Kerala Blasters had dismal season however Jessel's performance was one of the few bright points. Jessel has made the most number of passes for his team, averaging at 41.44 per game with an accuracy of 72.65%. Moreover, he is the only player in his team to have played every minute of the matches in this season of ISL and has contributed five assists.[3] There are rumours that he is under the radar of national team coach Igor Stimac and will be called to don the national colours.

Jessel Carneiro has signed a three-year extension with Kerala Blasters that will see him donning the jersey of the ISL club till the summer of 2023 despite offer from ATK.
