James Owen Perrine
James Owen Perrine (February 26, 1886 – September 10, 1974) was a physicist, a college professor, and an American football player and coach.

Athletic career
Perrine was a 1909 graduate of the University of Iowa, where he lettered in football during the 1908 squad.[1]
Iowa State Teachers College
He served as the head football coach at the University of Northern Iowa–then known as Iowa State Teachers College–in Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1910 and 1917.[2]
He earned his doctorate in physics from Cornell University and gave numerous lectures about the subject.[3]
