Jaak Allik

Jaak Allik (born on 6 October 1946 in Tallinn)[1] is an Estonian theatre critic, theatre director and politician. He belongs to Social Democratic Party.

He was member of VII, VIII and X Riigikogu, and in 1995-1999 he was the Minister of Culture of Estonia (Estonian: Eesti kultuuriminister).[1]

Personal life

Jaak Allik's parents were Communist politicians Hendrik Allik and Olga Lauristin. His maternal half-sister is sociologist and politician Marju Lauristin. His son, Mihkel Allik, has been an advisor to the Chancellor of Justice. His cousin is architect Vilen Künnapu.[2]
