Ilyas Ahmed (East Pakistan cricketer)

Ilyas Ahmed (date of birth unknown) was a Pakistani cricketer who played a single first-class match for East Pakistan during the 1954–55 season. His first and only recorded match came against the touring Indian national side in late December 1954,[1] the first match of a three-month tour (and one of only two played in East Pakistan).[2] In the match, played at the Niaz Stadium in Chittagong, Ilyas batted third in East Pakistan's first innings (behind Mazhar-ul-Islam and Mohsin Kazi), and scored five runs before being caught by Naren Tamhane off the bowling of Dattu Phadkar. He batted fourth in East Pakistan's second innings, the team having followed on, and was caught and bowled by Subhash Gupte for a duck.[3] East Pakistan lost the match by an innings and 15 runs after two days, and Ilyas did not play any further matches at first-class level.[4]
