"I Can Hear the Grass Grow " is the second single by The Move. It was recorded in 1967, and released in March of that year on Deram Records. It is a psychedelic pop song referring to the synesthetic effects of hallucinogenics.[1] It reached number five on the UK Singles Chart.[2][3]

In 1968, Blues Magoos recorded the song for their album, Basic Blues Magoos.[4] The song was covered in 1996 by the British rock band Status Quo, but this rock version of the song was not released as a single. However, it appeared on their album, Don't Stop.[5] In 2005, The Fall also covered the track on their album, Fall Heads Roll.[6][7]
