Club career

Peña signed with Spanish team Alicante CF at the age of 5. He was signed by Barcelona in 2012 and joined the club's youth setup La Masia. He was in the team that won the 2017–18 UEFA Youth League[3] and was promoted to the reserves for the 2018–19 season. On 30 October 2018, Peña was called up to the senior team for the first leg of Barça's round of 32 tie with Cultural Leonesa in the Copa del Rey as a backup keeper.[4][5] He was called up in the UEFA Champions League against PSV Eindhoven and once again for the first leg of Barça's Round of 16 encounter against Olympique Lyonnais, and in the Copa del Rey against Real Madrid to accommodate for the injury of backup keeper Jasper Cillessen.[6][7][8] He was also called up for La Liga games during Dutch goalkeeper Cillessen's injury and once again towards the end of the season during German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen's injury.[9][10]

Peña was once again called upon at the start of the 2019–20 season during the injury of Brazilian goalkeeper Neto.[11]

Peña has represented Spain at four different youth levels, earning a combined total of 28 caps. He was a runner up in the 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, being the starter keeper throughout the tournament for Spain.
