2.0 L (D4HA)

The 2.0 L (1,995 cc) R-Engine (codenamed D4HA) is a 4-cylinder compacted graphite iron block and aluminum cylinder head unit, with chain driven dual overhead camshafts operating 4-valves per cylinder. Fuel is supplied to the unit using Bosch 3rd-generation common rail direct injection (CRDi) through piezo-electronic injectors operating at 1,800 bar (26,000 psi), with air being fed through an electronically managed variable geometry turbocharger and an advanced engine control unit (air system-based charge control).

Bore and Stroke are 84 mm × 90 mm (3.31 in × 3.54 in) for a total displacement of 2.0 L (1,995 cc). It generates 136 kW (185 PS; 182 hp) of power and 400 N⋅m (295 lb⋅ft) of torque.

For reduced vibration and lower booming noise, the R gets a lower balancer shaft which is encased in a stiffened ladder frame housing for increased rigidity. Weight saving features include a serpentine belt with isolation pulley, a plastic head cover, plastic intake manifold and plastic oil filter housing.

To achieve Euro 5 emission compliancy, the R is fitted with a close-coupled Diesel particulate filter plus highly efficient exhaust gas recirculation with by-pass valve.

It is fitted to the 2009 Hyundai Tucson (2nd-Generation/Tucson ix in Korean Market) and 2010 Kia Sportage (3rd-Generation/Sportage R in Korean Market).

2.2 L (D4HB)

The 2.2 L (2,199 cc) R-Engine (codenamed D4HB) is a 4-cylinder compacted graphite iron block and aluminum cylinder head, with chain driven dual overhead camshafts operating 4-valves per cylinder.

Bore and Stroke are 85.4 mm × 96 mm (3.36 in × 3.78 in) for a total displacement of 2.2 L (2,199 cc).

It generates 147 kW (200 PS; 197 hp) of power and 440 N⋅m (325 lb⋅ft) of torque.

As with the 2.0 L (1,995 cc) version, for reduced vibration and lower booming noise, the R gets a lower balancer shaft which is encased in a stiffened ladder frame housing for increased rigidity.

It is fitted to the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe (2nd-Generation/Santa Fe The Style in Korean Market) and 2009 Kia Sorento (2nd-Generation/Sorento R in Korean Market). The 2.2 L (2,199 cc) is also used in the 2015 Hyundai Grandeur,[1] 2010 Carnival/Sedona in the Korean market and in some markets in the 6th-generation Hyundai Sonata.

This engine also currently fitted into the new 8 passenger crossover Hyundai Palisade for the Korean domestic market.
