Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5. It is the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn (2017), and is played in a post-apocalyptic open world with a third-person perspective. Players control protagonist Aloy, a machine hunter, as she travels to a western California ravaged by massive storms and deadly machines. It is set to be released in 2021.

Gameplay

Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing game with a third-person perspective. Players control Aloy, a hunter in a world ruled by machines. The game features an open world set in a post-apocalyptic California,[1][2] featuring locations including a ruined San Francisco and the Yosemite Valley.

Development and release

Horizon Forbidden West is being developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5.[3] It is a sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn.[3] Ashly Burch and Lance Reddick reprise their roles as Aloy and Sylens, respectively.[4] The game was announced during Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event in June 2020, and is expected to be released in 2021.[3][5]

A comic book series, set after the events of the first game, will be published by Titan Comics on 5 August 2020.[6]
