Hobby:tech

hobby:tech is an influential DJ, designer and personality from Japan.

He is known as the founder and chief designer of the Japanese streetwear label KIKS TYO.

Aside from his work with KIKS TYO, hobby:tech is known as one of the founding members of Japanese creative team "BROWNRATS", as a recording artist and DJ for Universal Music Japan and as one of Japan's most prominent and die-hard sneaker collectors. hobby:tech introduces and exposes elements of the worldwide sneaker and streetwear sub-cultures to Japanese audiences via his popular Street Jack Magazine columns "hobby:tech EX" and "FRESH AIR with Hamaji and hobby:tech."

His design work has molded a variety of products in collaboration with a multitude of companies and personalities including: New Balance Japan, Nike, Vans, Adidas, Levi's, Island Records, Eames, United Arrows, Fred Perry, Beams, Arnold Palmer, Honda and Aki Hoshino.

QUOLOMO

In Spring of 2008, hobby:tech and the Tokyo-based creative team SEVEN UNDER launched QUOLOMO, a T-shirt, apparel and lifestyle project. Producing clothing under the central theme: "Design Japanese Culture", QUOLOMO references the sub-cultures, artists, pop-culture personalities and animated characters of Japan. QUOLOMO Partners and contributors include photographer Yasumasa Yonehara, illustrator Shiro Nakano, Terutaka Anekawa of nanoļ½„universe, stylist Yuki Matsuda, and Japanese actress, model and designer, Aki Higashihara.[1]

QUOLOMO launched in Japan at the high end select shops, Loveless and Marui Yurakucho. The brand also released multiple tee projects in Taiwan at Sense Organ for the opening of Yonehara's Sneaker Lover exhibition. The first line of tee shirts features co-branded items with Hello Kitty, the Hiroshi Takahashi manga CROWS, Casio G-Shock, and Aki Hoshino.[2]
