History of rugby union matches between France and Japan

France and Japan have played each other on four occasions; France have won three matches and Japan have drawn one. They have met in twice Rugby World Cup fixtures and twice in end-of-year rugby union internationals.[1]

History

After three one-way games in which France dominated its Asiatic rivals, Japan draws a game in France in 2017, shocking French media[2].

This Draw eventually caused Bernard Laporte to fire Guy Noves from its occupation at the top of the French team[3].
