Heal the Living

Heal the Living (French: Réparer les vivants) is a 2016 French-Belgian drama film. It was directed by Katell Quillévéré, written by Quillévéré and Gilles Taurand, and scored by Alexandre Desplat, and stars Tahar Rahim, Emmanuelle Seigner, Anne Dorval, Bouli Lanners, and Kool Shen. Based on the novel Réparer les vivants (Mend the Living) by Maylis de Kerangal, Heal the Living interweaves three stories connected to each other via an organ transplant.[3] The film was presented in the Horizons section at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival.[4][5]

Heal the Living has a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 54 reviews, with an average rating of 7.6/10,[6] and an 82/100 on Metacritic based on 12 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".[7]

Variety described the film as "sublimely compassionate, heart-crushing".[8] Screendaily said the film is "an emotionally satisfying, cinematically deft look at interwoven fates...which knits together quietly luminous performances".[9]
