Hangi Tavakoli

Hangi was born and raised in northern Tehran, Iran. He started music production by rapping as well as producing hip hop songs for Iranian artists inside Iran.

Tavakoli has the sensory condition known as Synesthesia whereby he may "associate colors with music, or music with colors", and it allows him to visualize music.[4]

Hangi and his musical activities were considered underground under Iranian law. Iran's government had heavy control and filtering of the music scene at the time,[5] and it led Hangi to leave Iran in 2011. He initially moved to Penang, Malaysia, where he stayed until 2014, when he moved to Singapore.[2] Currently, he is running his record label, Flipside Productions, and producing songs for local Asian artists as well as making his own music.[6][3][7][8]

During his active years since 2004, he was known as one of founders of Iranian hip-hop and has produced more than 3,500 as well as writing more than 4,800 published songs[9] and has collaborated with various international organizations such as UNESCO[9] (music production and conducting the music band for "UNESCO PEACE ART EXHIBITION & WORKSHOP" in University Science Malaysia (USM) in 2012) and Iran's Fajr International Film Festival.[9]

His recent compositions are mainly towards instrumental music and soundtracks for movie and he managed to collaborate with a number of Iranian and international movie producers and directors.
