Hanby Park

Hanby Park is a suburb of Nelson, New Zealand.[1][2]

Hanby Park is located at the edge of Nelson's urban area, some 1.8 kilometres (1.1 mi) east of the city centre in the valley of the Maitai River. The suburb's residential area is a wedge-shaped area bounded by the river, Nile Street, and the suburb's namesake park. The park is the site of several walking trails and is also popular with local BMX riders. Maitai Valley Road, a steep, winding road linking Nelson with Maitai Reservoir and Pelorus Bridge, lies on the opposite bank of the river. A popular swimming hole, Black Hole, is located at a bend of the Maitai River in Hanby Park.

The suburb is often considered part of the outlying suburb of Maitai.
