HD 196050 is a star located in the constellation Pavo at a distance of 153 light years or 47 parsecs or 1.45 exameters away from the Solar System. This star has the apparent magnitude of 7.6 and the absolute magnitude is 4.2. It is a yellow main-sequence star of spectral type G3. The mass & radius are larger than the Sun by 10-20%. In 2002, the Anglo-Australian Planet Search team announced the discovery of an extrasolar planet orbiting the star.[1] The discovery was independently confirmed by the Geneva Extrasolar Planet Search team.[2]
