Gus Dapperton

Brendan Patrick Rice[2] (born March 11, 1997), better known by his stage name Gus Dapperton, is an American singer and songwriter from Warwick, New York.

History

Dapperton has received some attention for his unique fashion style, consisting at some points of a green bowl cut, noticeable jewelry, eyeliner, particularly brightly coloured clothing, and thick-rimmed glasses.[3][4]

Dapperton's song "Of Lacking Spectacle" was featured on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and appears on the soundtrack album.[5]

Personal life

Dapperton attends Drexel University, but took a semester off to go on tour in support of "You Think You're a Comic!".[6] As of 2018, he lives with his parents in Long Branch, New Jersey.[7]

Career

Gus Dapperton put out his first single, "Moodna, Once With Grace", in 2016. Soon after, in 2017 his first EP arrived by the name "Yellow and Such". In 2018, his next EP followed with the name "You Think You're A Comic!" [8]

In 2019, at the age of 22, Gus released his debut album, Where Polly People Go to Read.[9]

In June Dapperton was featured in Skull Candy's mood boost campaign along with Rina Sawayama , Cuco (musician) and Rico Nasty. The goal of the program is to boost mental health by celebrating a different feel-good mood every month aiming to help those struggling with depression, addiction and suicide, the hashtag being promoted during that time was #FeelOriginal[16][17]
