Green Island Cement
Green Island Cement is Hong Kong's only major cement producer.[1]
It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings.
History
The company was founded at Ilha Verde (Green Island or Tsing Chau) in Macau in 1887 and was the first concrete manufacturer in the region.[2] It was purchased by British interests in the early 20th century and relocated to Hung Hom in Hong Kong where it was a major employer for many decades.[2][3]
