George Floyd (American football)

George Floyd Jr. (born December 21, 1960) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive back for two seasons with the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). Over his NFL career, Floyd appeared in seven games during the Jets' 1982 season, including three playoff games, and eight in their 1983 season, with two games started.[1]

Born in Tampa, Florida,[1] he grew up in Brooksville, Florida,[2] where he attended Hernando High School.[3] He played college football at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), where he was named an All-American in 1980 and 1981. In 1999, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame;[3] in 2007, he was inducted into EKU's Hall of Fame,[2] and, in 2011, he was inducted into Hernando High School's Hall of Fame.[4]
