Gang Castel

Gang Castel (Persian: گنگ دژ) is the last castle and refuge of King Turan Afrasiab. If this castle is conquered, the name of the kingdom of Turan and its territory will no longer remain. Its name has been mentioned many times in the Shahnameh, but it was besieged at the time of Kay Khosrow, and Kay Khosrow and her allies are determined to conquer that royal castle.[1]

Gang Castel in the Shahnameh

Kay Khosrow, is constantly advancing in its last war under the name of Great Kay Khosrow War , this time the Afrasiab army escaped from the battlefield at night and to the other bank of the river. The following morning it was reported that the Turan army had fled and equipment and clothing were left behind. While searching for the Turanian settlement, Kay Khosrow thanked God that they had fled because he thought it would be difficult for them to win. The Persians then rested for six days, crossing the river on the seventh day, and entered Turan. Afrasiab, on the other hand, was thinking of providing a new army and sent a letter to Fagfuore Chein asking for his help.

The Kay Khosrow allies in this war were the kings and tribal chiefs, headed by Rostam King Zabol, Goudarz, the leader of the House of Goudarz, Fariburz the son of Kay Kāvus, Giv the son of Goudarz, Rohham, Hojir, Shidoosh, Manuchehr, Gorgin, and Manoushan It is also called Tous and Gostaham, the descendants of the late Nowzar. All these commanders took part in the siege of the Ganges fort and acted under the command of Kay Khosrow.
