Curriculum

GEMS World Academy Chicago provides students with international education framework through the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).[2] GEMS is an International Baccalaureate World School, formally authorized for the IB's Primary Years Program (preschool through grade 5) and Middle Years Program (grades 6 through 10). GEMS is a candidate school for the IB's Diploma Program, which serves students in grades 11 and 12. GEMS also is an Apple Distinguished School.

All students at GEMS receive daily instruction in a world language; embark on regular Field Studies — focused explorations of the neighborhoods, institutions and people of Chicago; and complete a robust STEAM program that threads coding, robotics and design-thinking throughout the curriculum.
