Four Seasons Resort Lanai

Four Seasons Resort Lanai is a Four Seasons resort hotel located in Lanai, Hawaii on the island of Lānaʻi, the sixth largest island in Hawaii that once was Hawaii's largest pineapple plantation and counted for producing 75% of the world's supply. It is one of four Four Seasons hotels in Hawaii, and one of overall three hotels in the island, including another Four Seasons resort, Sensei Lanai (previously "The Lodge at Koele"), which all are owned by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, who also owns the majority of the island.

Originally built as Manele Bay, Four Seasons Resort Lanai was opened on February 2016. It has 168 rooms and 45 suites, and a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus.

History

After Lanai's last harvest of pineapple in 1992, the Manele Bay hotel was established. It became under Four Seasons' management in 2005. In 2012, Larry Ellison bought 98% of the island for $300 million.[2][3][4][5]

Opening in October 2005, Four Seasons Resort Lanai reflects a combination of Polynesian and Hawaiian designs. Many of the rooms have large lanais and views of Hulopoʻe Beach, which offers some of the world's best snorkeling. The hotel currently houses 213 guest rooms, including 45 private suites.

Four Seasons Resort Lanai ranks with AAA as a Five Diamond Resort with the ONE Forty Restaurant ranked as a AAA Four Diamond Restaurant.[6][7] Four Seasons Resort Lanai was also listed on Robb Report for Best of the Best 2016-Journeys.[8] It was also was named #1 hotel in the United States by the U.S. News & World Report in their 2018 and 2020 rankings.[9][10]

Amenities

The resort was constructed with a 7,039-yard, par-72 championship premier golf course, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus. Ranked by Travel + Leisure[11] as one of the world's best courses in 2006, Four Seasons Resort Lana'i was also ranked the third-best golf resort in Hawaii.[11] Some other amenities include spa services, pools, and fitness facilities.
