Production

  • In the Coen brothers' film Barton Fink (1991), the title character deals with writer's block while attempting to write a screenplay for a Wallace Beery wrestling picture. At the time they wrote it, the Coens were reportedly unaware of this movie. Barton Fink features a character based somewhat on William Faulkner that Fink consults for help in writing the script.[2]

Box office

The film grossed a total (domestic and foreign) of $837,000: $487,000 from the US and Canada and $350,000 elsewhere, making a profit of $49,000.[1]
