Fakthong kaeng buat

Pumpkin in coconut cream, known in Thai as fakthong kaeng buat (Thai: ฟักทองแกงบวด, romanized: fakthǭngkǣngbūat, IPA: [fák tʰɔːŋ kɛːŋ bùːat]), is a traditional Thai sweet. The dish has been which has been eaten for decades and is one of the most famous local sweets.

The history of fakthong kaeng buat is unknown.. According to most of the researches, this dish might have been introduced by local people in the Northeast of Thailand. Most people there grow their own food since they work in agriculture. Another problem was that in the past, going to the market was not an easy thing to do, so peoples' best choice would be to bring back their local food, vegetables, or fruits and start cooking from that.
