FFA Cup appearances

The following table details the appearances by clubs in the regular rounds (round of 32 onwards) of the Australian FFA Cup association football competition. Up to and including the 2019 edition, the top level A-League clubs have automatically qualified for the round of 32; clubs from lower levels must qualify for the round of 32 from qualifying rounds,[1] or (since 2015) via winning the National Premier Leagues final.[2]

Up to and including the 2019 edition, the 32 teams that make up the FFA Cup competition proper have been the 10 A-League teams with the remaining 22 teams composed of various semi-professional and amateur qualifiers, referred to as "Member Federation Clubs", from each of the state federations, with the A-League clubs entering the competition at the Round of 32.[1]

For the 2020 FFA Cup the bottom two clubs in the 2019–20 A-League season will play-off for a spot in the Round of 32,[3] and the new expansion A-League club (Macarthur FC) will not appear in the tournament until the following year.[4]

For the 2021 edition, the bottom four teams in the 2021–21 A-League season will playoff for two spots to maintain the total number of A-League teams at 10 for the Round of 32.[4]
