Esporte Clube Água Santa, commonly known as Água Santa,is a professional association football club based in the city of Diadema, São Paulo, Brazil. The team compete in the Campeonato Paulista Série A-1, the first division of the traditional in-state competition in São Paulo.

Founded in 1981, Água Santa only played in amateur competitions until 2011. In 2012 the club began competing in professional championships. Campeonato Paulista da Segunda Divisão de 2013 marked the start of a meteoric rise of three consecutive successful seasons, reaching the premier level of Campeonato Paulista in 2016.[1]

History

Migrants, primarily from Northern Brazil, Northeastern Brazil and Minas Gerais, in the Eldorado neighborhood of Diadema on a street called "Estrada Água Santa" (hence the club's name) founded the club. Gradually the team rose in regional amateur football, mainly after 2000. With the greater achievements the crowds grew and today have a loyal fan base estimated over 10,000 called Aquáticos.

The Esporte Clube Água Santa ever had wearing its true shirt icons of Brazilian football as Claudecir, Zinho Capixaba, Capitão, Dinei and most importantly, has formed, while not having the training club classification, several athletes on their base ranks as Lelê who served in Fortaleza, Romarinho at Porto, Fernando in the Internacional, Neílton in Botafogo and Fábio Ferreira in Ponte Preta.

Stadium

Esporte Clube Água Santa play their home games at Estádio Distrital do Inamar. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 10,000 people.
