The album peaked at thirty-nine on the U.S. Billboard 200 and reached the sixth spot on the R&B Albums chart.[2]
Leo Stanley of Allmusic noted Murray's improving rhythmic skills, stating that Murray's defiantly East Coast style of production "can make the record a little monotonous, but his kinetic verbal energy keeps Enigma exciting and fresh."[1]
