Encore was founded in 1999 by Dr. Bharat Sangani, and Patrick J. Barber to bring multiple real estate entities created by Dr. Sangani under one umbrella holding company.[1]

In June 2009, the company closed a $150 million opportunity fund.[2]

In September 2010, the company formed a partnership with Sage Hospitality.[3][4]

In January 2014, the company sold a 220-unit apartment complex in Colorado for $40.75 million.[5]

In July 2014, the company announced plans to develop 3,100 home lots in North Texas.[6]

In July 2014, the company acquired Two Forest Plaza, a 196,215 square foot office building in Dallas.[7][8]

In February 2015, the company acquired hotels in McAllen, Texas and Tampa, Florida.[9]

In August 2015, the company acquired a retail site in Bedford, New Hampshire.[10]
