The Northeast Automotive Intermodal Gateway is a new automotive terminal that opened in late 2004 with 3 miles of track and 90 acres of transfer and storage space. It can handle 200,000 vehicles per year, and consolidates automotive delivery by CSX rail for all southern New England cities. The facility is centrally located along Massachusetts Route 49 near the intersection of Interstate 84 and the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90).[3]
