Dum Dum Motijheel College

Dum Dum Motijheel College, established in 1950,[1] is the general degree college in Kolkata, India. It offers undergraduate courses in arts and sciences. It is affiliated to West Bengal State University.[2] The College with 22 departments out of which 15 departments offer Honours courses, 92 teaching staff including part-time, contractual whole time and guest teachers and 56 non-teaching staff including administrative and technical staff and nearly 3000 students, has achieved the honour of being one of the largest Government-sponsored colleges in the state of West Bengal. The college has a Post Graduate Unit in M.Sc. Mathematics and M.A. English affiliated to WBSU. Dum Dum Motijheel College runs in two shifts Morning (Womens' Section) and Day Section (Co-educational). Honours classes of the morning section are held in the Day section. Offices of both Day and Morning Sections are located in the Golden Jubilee Building.

Accreditation

Dum Dum Motijheel College is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).[1] It was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and awarded B++ grade, an accreditation that has since then expired.[3]
