Disney's Riviera Resort

Disney's Riviera Resort is a Disney Vacation Club resort at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. It was built by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. It is the first newly-constructed resort to be served by the new Disney Skyliner gondola system and the 15th Disney Vacation Club property to be built.[1][2][1] The resort is themed after Walt Disney's trips and experiences in Europe, and a love of the French and Italian Riviera. A collection of his personal travel photos are incorporated into the resort's decor. Popular Disney characters are also painted into the overall theme of the resort.[3][4] It opened on December 16, 2019.[2][5] The resort is walkable from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. The Riviera Resort allows guests quick access to two parks within the Disney property: Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. [4] Bus transportation is offered to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and other resorts.

Plans for the 300-room resort were released during the D23 Expo in 2017.[1] It is also one of two hotels announced during the 2017 D23 Expo, the other being Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.[2] The Riviera Resort is one of the 23 improvements to Disney Parks announced during D23.[6] It is the first entirely new Disney Vacation Club Resort built since Aulani.

Being a part of Disney Vacation Club, The Riviera Resort offers guests multiple room styles ranging from Tower or Deluxe studios to one-, two-, or three-bedroom villas. Villas include accommodations for up to 12 guests. These options include a multitude of expected Disney Resort amenities.

Dining

Within the resort, guests have three options for food. Upon entrance, Le Petite Café, named after the Disney film The Aristocats, offers a coffee menu during the day and becomes a small-plate and drink lounge after hours. Primo Piatto is a quick-service style restaurant within the resort that offers quick bites and also a variety of beer and wine. Primo Piatto is included in Disney App mobile ordering and pickup service. Topolino's Terrace is the rooftop, sit-down dining experience located within the resort. Breakfast and dinner are served. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge fireworks are within view during dinner service. Bar Riva is the final dining option located within the resort. It is an open-air pool bar that offers a collection of small plates along with its selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.

Amenities

The Riviera Resort has a full-size pool, a leisure pool, and a shallow interactive splash area for small children. If weather permits, a schedule of activities are offered every day for the whole family to enjoy, including games and projected Disney movies viewed from the pool or surrounding lawn.[3]

La Boutique is the Disney merchandise store on premises.[3]

Resort guests also enjoy Extra Magic hours, early access to FastPass+ selection, and complimentary Magic Bands. As with other Disney resorts, The Riviera uses Magic Bands for room key access.
