Dilşat Yıldız

Dilşat Yıldız (born September 29, 1996) is a Turkish female curler. She is a member of Çelebi S.K. in Erzurum.[1] Currently, she is studying physical education and sports at the Fırat University.[2]

Career

Yıldız was admitted to the Turkish women's national team in 2012. She competed in the 2012 European Curling Championships-Group C[3] and following her team's promotion in the European Curling Championships-Group B in Karlstad, Sweden.

Yıldız took part at the 2013 European Junior Curling Challenge-Group B in Prague, Czech Republic, which was the qualifying tournament for the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships.[1] She skipped a 3-2 win in the round robin, failing to reach the semifinals. She ranked 5th of 12 competitors.[4]

Yıldız has taken part in eight European Curling Championships including competing in the A Division in 2017. She has also competed four times at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship with her partner Uğurcan Karagöz. Their best finish came in 2018, where they placed 8th.

Her team's second place finish at the 2019 European Curling Championships B Division was enough to earn Turkey a spot in the 2020 World Qualification Event, an event to qualify two teams for the World Championship. There, Turkey earned the third playoff spot with a 4-3 round robin record before losing the second qualifying match to Italy 8-4. It was the closest Turkey has ever been to qualify for the World Championship.
