Dickerson Wells

Dickerson LeMoyne Shillicutt Wells is an American preacher from Memphis, Tennessee in the Church of God in Christ and was the youngest minister, at the time in 1978, to be ordained as a clergyman in the COGIC denomination in the state of Tennessee.

Biography

Pastor Wells is a product of the Chicago Public and Memphis City School Systems, and during his high school years coupled his standard curriculum with courses at the Charles Harris Mason System of Bible Colleges. A former Memphis City School's educator, Pastor Wells received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Lemoyne-Owen College and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Memphis. In August 2012, Pastor Wells was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Divinity. He is an avid writer and reader and is published in the African American Devotional Study Bible. Pastor Wells travels extensively on a national and international scale, his first devotion is to his wife, Valesa and their four children: sons Dickerson II and chandler and daughters ZaQuita and Chantelle. In November 2015, during the 108th Holy Convocation, Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, along with members of the General Board, consecrated Pastor Dickerson L. S. Wells to the office of Auxiliary Bishop serving Tennessee Eastern First Jurisdiction Church of God IN Christ. He has served and continues to serve the denomination in numerous positions. In addition, Bishop Wells serves his community in various capacities. Bishop Wells currently pastors Bethel Church in two locations; a 10-acre campus in Memphis and downtown Munford, TN.
