Dhola, Tibet

Dhola is located in Tibet, China,[1] 7 km (4.3 mi) north of the McMahon Line.

On June 4, 1962, Captain Mahabir Prasad of the Indian Army Sikh Regiment (1 Sikh) established a military post at Dhola (Henderson Brooks and Bhagat, p. 52). At the time, the post location was reported to be south of the McMahon Line at map grid MM 8513. However, in August 1962, the Indian Army XXXIII Corps informed its Eastern Command via letter that the military post at Dhola was actually located at map grid MM 8316. It was not until September 12, 1962 that the Indian Army realized that MM 8316 was north of the McMahon Line (Henderson Brooks and Bhagat, p. 53).
