Davin, Saskatchewan

Davin is a hamlet in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, located approximately 40 km East of Regina. Listed as a designated place by Statistics Canada, the hamlet had a population of 49 in the Canada 2006 Census.[1]

In a 2011 census, the town was listed as having 0 residents[2] and was taken off the federal list of communities, subsequently incorrectly marking it as a ghost town. This denied the 49 residents access to federal infrastructure funding and came as an insult to the population. The error was corrected later in the year by industry minister James Moore after he was alerted to the situation by local Liberal MP Ralph Goodale.
