Dafahat

Dafahat is a census town in Suti II CD Block in Jangipur subdivision of Murshidabad district in the state of West Bengal, India.

As per the 2011 Census of India, Dafahat had a total population of 15,688, of which 7,817 (50%) were males and 7,871 (50%) were females. Population below 6 years was 3,185. The total number of literates in Dafahat was 7,382 (59.04% of the population over 6 years). [3]

As of 2001 India census,[4] Dafahat had a population of 11,323. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Dafahat has an average literacy rate of 36%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 44% and, female literacy is 27%. In Dafahat, 22% of the population is under 6 years of age.
