2019–20 season

The first year of its operation was 2019–20 with the Football Association of Wales owning and administering the Tier 2 leagues for the first time. These changes followed from a review of the Welsh Football Pyramid.[2] Prior to 2019, the equivalent league was the Cymru Alliance, covering North and Central Wales.

The 2019–20 season

The league was a seventeen club league and in its inaugural season featured Colwyn Bay, returning to the Welsh Football pyramid.[3] Rhyl folded during the season and were expelled from the league with their results expunged. The season was not completed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, so the final league positions were decided on a points per game basis.

Member clubs for the 2020-21 season

The following teams were confirmed as members for the season after the Football Association of Wales confirmed relegation from, and promotion to the league in June 2020. Llanidloes Town, Holywell Town and Holyhead Hotspur were promoted, Corwen, Llanfair and Porthmadog have been relegated. [4]
