Cordua Bar, California

Cordua Bar (also, Cordua's Bar and Speck's Bar) is a former mining town of the California Gold Rush, located in Yuba County, California.

It was located on the north bank of the Yuba River in the Sierra Nevada, northwest of Timbuctoo.[1]

History

The place was named after Theodor Cordua, local Gold Rush merchant.[1] Speck's Bar was a corruption of the name of Jonas Spect, discoverer of gold on the Yuba River.[1]
