Colonial Pine Hills, South Dakota
Colonial Pine Hills is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Pennington County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 2,493 at the 2010 census. Many master-planned communities have been built in Colonial Pine Hills and the area is considered one of the most affluent places to live in Pennington County.

At the 2000 census there were 2,561 people in 841 households, including 757 families, in the CDP. The population density was 149.2 people per square mile (57.6/km²). There were 867 housing units at an average density of 50.5 per square mile (19.5/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.29% White, 0.31% African American, 1.21% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.12% from other races, and 1.09% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.13%.[2]
Of the 841 households 50.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 85.4% were married couples living together, 3.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 9.9% were non-families. 6.8% of households were one person and 1.5% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 3.05 and the average family size was 3.21.
The age distribution was 32.4% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 26.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.1% 65 or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 103.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.4 males.
The median household income was $68,088 and the median family income was $70,671. Males had a median income of $45,688 versus $30,505 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $24,201. About 3.0% of families and 3.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.4% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
