Central District (Mahabad County)

The Central District of Mahabad County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان مهاباد‎) is a district (bakhsh) in Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 179,697, in 39,752 families.[1] The District has one city: Mahabad. The District has three rural districts (dehestan): Akhtachi-ye Gharbi Rural District, Mokriyan-e Gharbi Rural District and Mokriyan-e Sharqi Rural District.
