Plot

Chester Graham Jr. (Dean Stockwell), the spoiled young son of a wealthy railroad owner, manages to get himself lost in the middle of nowhere when the train he is riding makes a water stop. He is found by a cowboy (Joel McCrea) who is part of a cattle drive. The boy learns the value of hard work, self-discipline and comradeship while working with the men on the trail to Santa Fe. The theme of a rich brat developing strength of character and losing the chip on his shoulder in the process is a remake of 1937's Oscar-winning film Captains Courageous, based on the novel by Rudyard Kipling.[1]
