Carl A. Osberg
Carl A. Osberg (April 13, 1920 – June 4, 1942) was a U.S. Navy pilot in the Battle of Midway. He received the Navy Cross award.

Osberg was born in Dunbarton, New Hampshire, and attended Manchester Central High School, where he played football. In his free time he observed bi-planes at Grenier Field, site of today's Manchester–Boston Regional Airport. He quit college at Cornell to join the Navy reserves and was trained at Naval Air Station Squantum in Massachusetts. His flight on June 4, 1942, is commemorated at O'Hare Airport and Honolulu Memorial Courts of the Missing, and the USS Osberg was named after him. Carl was one of the twelve pilots of Torpedo Squadron 3 attached to the air craft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-5). During the Battle of Midway on June 4, 1942, he was a pilot in a Torpedo Plane assault against Japanese naval units from which he never returned. For his courage and gallantry in battle he was awarded the Navy Cross.
