Being a professional wrestling championship, it is not won via direct competition; it is instead won via a predetermined ending to a match. Each Medal of Valor match was a 2 out of 3 falls contest, until this stipulation was suspended by Mike Del upon his becoming champion. There have been thirteen reigns by eleven wrestlers. Conor Claxton was the first champion, who won it by defeating Ryan Galeone in a tournament final. Eran Ashe is the current champion in his second reign.
