Bulgaria competed at the 2011 FIBA U18 European Championship Division B, and won their first gold medal at the tournament overall. However, the team has struggled over the past few years, trying to reach the pinnacle once again. Bulgaria would finish in 12th place in 2016[2], though they would bounce back to reach the quarter-finals in 2017[3]. In 2018[4], and in 2019[5], the team would display mediocre performances.
