Brunei at the Southeast Asian Games

Brunei Darussalam debuted to play in the games in the 1977 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Despite her ranking behind the medal tally, Brunei doesn't stop sending athletes to give pride to their country. Brunei has only hosted the games once in 1999 Southeast Asian Games. A day before the 2015 Southeast Asian Games' Opening Ceremony, Brunei stepped down as the host of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. The Philippines decided to step in despite them recovering from the 2017 Marawi Conflict. The Philippines was also set to host the 2023 Southeast Asian Games but after Brunei pulled out from hosting, they have the title to host the games.
